A szezon első négy versenyéből négyszer a Márquez testvérek végeztek az első két helyen. A hatszoros MotoGP-bajnok Marc Márquez súlyos sérülésből visszatérve veri agyon a mezőnyt, öccse, Alex felemelkedése viszont talán ennél is figyelemreméltóbb.
