Hatalmas pusztítást okozott Mianmarban a pénteki földrengés. A kórházak megteltek sérültekkel, sokan az összedőlt épületek romjai alatt rekedhettek. A szomszédos Thaiföldön pedig egy összeomlott, épülőfélben lévő felhőkarcoló romjai között keresnek több tucatnyi túlélőt.
