A brit Legfelsőbb Bíróság döntése alapján a nő jogi meghatározása a biológiai nemen alapul. J. K. Rowling üdvözölte a rendelkezést, a bíróság viszont hangsúlyozta, hogy az ítélet nem az egyik oldal győzelme a másikkal szemben.
