Tüzérséggel lőtték Aleppót a szerdán meglepetésszerű offenzívába kezdő szíriai ellenzéki erők, a harcok miatt le kellett zárni a milliós nagyvárost Damaszkusszal összekötő autópályát is. A harcokban helyi források szerint néhány nap alatt már 242 ember vesztette életét.
