We interviewed Alissa Timoshkina, who is half Ukrainian but was born in Russia and lives in England. In her cookbook, Kapusta, she explores questions of identity in the wake of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and envisions the cuisines of Eastern Europe as one big family, bound together by cabbage.
